hey I'm sorry if you've gone over this already, or if this is a dumb question, but what did u mean in ur tag about the dmmd English patch? About altering someone's dialogue?

OH YES MY FRIEND I HAVE DEFINITELY ADDRESSED THIS BEFORE BUT DON’T YOU WORRY I WILL HAPPILY INFORM YOU.

The character whom I’m speaking of is, of course, Mink. In his re:connect good ending, they changed his way of speaking to make him sound far more of a piece of shit then he was meant to be, and when compared to translations done by other parties it is VERY OBVIOUS that the translation team just flat out didn’t like him and wished to bias ignorant patch player’s opinions of him, AS SEEN BELOW:

Then this one doesn’t even need a comparison imo because when in the actual fuck did Mink ever talk like that, even in the first game before he saw the light and only viewed Aoba as a tool.

AND they even changed the way AOBA thought and spoke about Mink in order to make him seem more afraid or intimidated by him then he actually was:

Here, I was comparing the re:connect English patch to a translation done by tumblr user dramatical-rhyme on their pastebin, which is what the fandom used in order to play re:connect before an official English patch was made by a team over at Aarinfantasy.

Friendly reminder of HOW DIFFERENT Mink’s standing and conscious is between the first and second games. But, even first-game Mink NEVER used such language, and they try to make re:connect Mink sound like that even with his changed viewpoint and feelings towards Aoba? YEAH OKAY.

Long story short, the translation team does not like Mink and tried to lead everyone that played the patch to feel the same way as them by purposely misinterpreting his character. It personally disgusts me that people can’t keep their personal opinions and work separate, especially to this degree where they attempt to force their opinions onto others.

You have now been informed on Mink and how nasty the dmmd translation team is.

So I’ve been hearing a lot about how the translators of dramatical murder purposely made mink’s lines profane and heartless because they hated the ship and wanted everyone else to hate it as well. Doesn’t change the fact that mink did horrible things but it makes it harder for people to sympathize with him apparently. This is just a summary of what I’ve heard about it
